Contact and corrections

Every claim on this site names its source, so most problems can be pointed at exactly: a quotation that does not match its source, a study in the wrong tier, a figure that has since changed, a page that does not render. Here is how to report one and what happens next.

Report a problem

Email a correction. Include the page address, the section heading, and, for a claim, the source id printed beneath it (the pmid-… or doi-… code). Those three things are usually enough to find the problem without a reply.

What is worth reporting

• A quoted sentence that differs from the source abstract, or a source id that does not resolve.
• A claim carrying a higher evidence tier than its source supports.
• A study in the evidence table that is about a different compound, or a detection-method paper presented as an effect study.
• An editorial passage that has become inaccurate, or for which a primary document now exists.
• A regulatory status that has changed.
• Anything that reads as a recommendation to use a compound. It should not, and if it does, that is a defect.

How corrections are made

Corrections are made in the record, not on the page. The record's changelog gains a dated entry saying what changed and why, and the page is rebuilt from the corrected record. A claim whose source does not support it is removed rather than reworded. Nothing is corrected silently.

Research and review

Clinicians, pharmacologists and researchers who would like to review a record are welcome. A reviewed record shows the reviewer's name, credential and date at the top of its page. Write to the same address with the compound in the subject line.

What this site does not do

It does not give individual advice, and questions about whether or how to use a compound cannot be answered here. A clinician who knows your history can; this site can only show what has been studied.
